A small elected committee manages the club on behalf of the membership. Elections occur at the AGM, which usually occurs in November. We are always keen to hear from members who are willing to take up positions on the committee, or even to simply organise a specific event. No specific qualifications are required to be on the committee; just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.

I’m a geographically malpositioned dentist who loves the hills and misses the fabled lands of Moray. I joined the club in 2014 and regularly attend the weekend meets. Through the MMC I have done my first outdoor rock climbing, my first winter walks and my first caving trips. It has been a great way to meet new friends and learn new skills. I have also been advised to stay away from wood burning stoves.

I grew up with picnics on Ben Rinnes and expeds throughout Moray and the Cairngorms. I joined the Club to spend time with folk who love the hills, being outside and enjoying unpredictable Scottish adventures.
I love walking, cycling and climbing and have made friends with people who do all of these in the club.

I was introduced to the hills at an early age and have always loved wandering the Scottish Hills. I joined the MMC over fifteen years ago when I moved to Elgin and have been a member ever since. With fellow MMC members I have walked, scrambled, rock climbed, ice climbed, skied, cycled and kayaked all over Scotland. I have been on a few overseas mountain climbing trips, mostly with MMC members, to the Alps, the Dolomites, Spain, Norway, Bolivia, and most recently, a solo trip to the Highlands of Iceland.
